Azura Memory Care of Wausau’s resident, Arden (Art), celebrated his 100th birthday by getting out on the water for an afternoon of doing what he loves most – fishing! Azura’s MOSAIC dreams committee lined up a day for Art to enjoy on the water with his family and friends as he celebrated his 100th trip around the sun.
Born and raised in Wausau and attending Wausau East High School, Art went on to serve in the United States Air Force during World War II. When Art returned home, he worked as a postal carrier in Wausau for over 40 years. In his 100 years on earth, Art has lived through some of our world’s most historic events; Amelia Earhart crossing the Atlantic, the building of the Empire State Building, the Holocaust, the discovery of DNA, and much more!
