Memory Care for Alzheimer's & Dementia in Fox Point

Azura Fox Point is a dedicated memory care community serving the greater Milwaukee area and North Shore, with four internal households purpose-built to support residents living with early-, mid-, and late-stage Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Each household is small by design — fostering the kind of close, familiar relationships that help residents feel grounded as the disease progresses.

Care here is rooted in our MOSAIC philosophy, a person-centered approach that honors who each resident has always been. Rather than fitting people into a fixed program, our team builds daily life around individual life stories, preferences, sensory comforts, and remaining strengths.

Every team member supporting residents at Fox Point completes more than 120 hours of dementia-specific education within their first 90 days, with ongoing training thereafter. The curriculum covers communication, behavioral support, swallowing and nutrition concerns in advanced dementia, sensory engagement, and compassionate end-of-life care.

Caregiver-to-resident ratios are intentionally kept low so support is consistent and unhurried. Daily programming includes music therapy, reminiscence work, art, gentle movement, and structured social connection — designed to ease anxiety, support cognition, and create moments of joy.

The community is fully secured, with monitored entrances, enclosed courtyards, and safety features integrated into every household — giving residents the freedom to move and explore safely, and giving families peace of mind from the moment they walk in.

Milwaukee Memory Care Rates

Memory care rates at Azura Fox Point range from $8,260 to $12,384 per month, based on the room or floor plan selected and the level of care a resident needs. The all-inclusive monthly rate covers private accommodations, three chef-prepared meals daily plus snacks, housekeeping and laundry, utilities, the full activity and engagement calendar, 24-hour team member support, and personalized memory care services.

Two factors drive where a resident’s rate lands within that range:

  • Level of care. Residents in earlier stages of dementia who need less hands-on support pay less than those requiring extensive assistance with daily activities, mobility, or end-of-life care.
  • Room and floor plan choice. Different floor plans across our four households are priced accordingly.

For families weighing the cost, it helps to compare it to the alternative. Around-the-clock private in-home dementia care typically costs $20,000 or more per month in the Milwaukee area, and that figure does not include housing, meals, utilities, social engagement, or the specialized dementia programming and trained team that come standard at Azura.

A note on payment sources: Memory care — including for residents with Alzheimer’s disease — is primarily paid through private funds or long-term care insurance, and Medicare and Medicaid alone do not cover assisted living or memory care. Wisconsin does offer a few county-administered funding programs for financially qualified residents, with eligibility and available funds varying by county. We also support veterans and surviving spouses who qualify for the VA Aid & Attendance benefit. Our team is happy to walk through funding options — including reviewing your long-term care insurance policy — during your tour.

What Makes Azura Fox Point Different

Tucked just minutes from downtown Milwaukee on Port Washington Road, Azura Fox Point gives North Shore families something rare: a specialized memory care community that feels like a neighborhood, not a facility. Four small households, each with its own kitchen, dining room, and living spaces, replace the long-hallway model most large institutions still rely on. Residents recognize their neighbors. The team knows their stories.

Every team member is grounded in our MOSAIC philosophy and supported by Azura’s nationally recognized education program — including 120+ hours of dementia training in the first 90 days. That depth of preparation is unusual in our industry, and families notice it in the small, daily interactions that add up to a life well lived.

On-site clinical and therapy services

As care needs evolve, Azura Fox Point brings specialists directly to residents — so families don’t have to navigate outside appointments and transportation while managing a dementia diagnosis. Through collaboration with home health and hospice providers and area physicians, residents have access to:

  • Physical, occupational, and speech/swallow therapy to support mobility, communication, and safe eating in advanced dementia
  • On-site physician visits for routine and ongoing medical care
  • On-site dental and podiatry services
  • Wound care and skilled nursing support through our home health partners
  • End-of-life care through Azura Hospice, our own hospice service — so residents can remain in the household they know, surrounded by the team and friends already part of their daily life

Lifestyle, engagement, and family connection

Beyond clinical care, life at Fox Point is full. Residents enjoy chef-prepared meals, daily activities tailored to each household, on-site salon services, music and pet visits, family events throughout the year, and secured outdoor courtyard space where they can safely enjoy fresh air and Wisconsin’s seasons. The result is a memory care community where the disease is managed expertly — but the person is what we focus on.
