Joyce’s School Reunion

Joyce, a resident at Azura Memory Care of Stoughton, took a trip down memory lane and visited Levi Leonard Elementary School on Monday, Nov. 22nd where she worked as the Office Secretary for the Principal for over 27 years. She started at what was Evansville Elementary until the gas explosion when they built Levi Leonard Elementary. Joyce visited the office where she spent most of her days, took a tour of the school, followed by a reunion lunch with two of the former teachers and former school nurse that she worked with for many years. Her daughter, who was also a teacher at the school attended as well with her two sisters. The students also had a special surprise for Joyce thanking her for all her work and dedication to the school! When Joyce was asked what her best day would be, she wanted nothing more than to return to the Elementary School, where she spent many joyful years. Joyce is 89-years-old, but still remembers her time at the school and loves to talk about it. In fact, she even sometimes will mistake Azura team members as someone from the school.
