Shawna shares, “My passion for helping others began when I started my career in Healthcare 28
years ago as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Long-term Care. The first 20 years of
my career were spent in Long term care providing care to residents affected by
Dementia and the elderly population. I have held Leadership positions over the
last 8 years in Hospital and Clinical settings.
I have always had a passion for helping others, especially those affected by
Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, as I can personally relate having a
grandmother who was affected. I was able to see firsthand the challenges that
families face during the changes that take place. Throughout my years of
experience in Long-term care, Hospitals, and Clinics, I have obtained credentials
and degrees in Healthcare Management and Basic Life Support that allow me the
opportunity to be able to lead a Team of professionals that provide excellent care
to our community, while also supporting our families in those communities. I
strongly believe that God has paved the way for my career and has a plan to allow
me to do great work at Azura Memory Care.
My husband and I have 4 adult children, so we are empty nesters. However, we
have 1 dog and 1 cat, but anticipate adding more furry friends in the future since I
am a lover of all animals! I enjoy anything outdoors in my free time, especially
fishing and boating with my family. I also enjoy cooking and trying new
restaurants.
I feel so blessed to be a part of the Azura Memory Care family!”
